Top Ten Reasons to Get Involved with TVF:
- We are soup to nuts.
TVF supports all four TVUSD schools, so it’s a great way to support your kids of varying ages.
- We take the long view.
Being involved in TVF is also a great way to learn more about all our schools, and what will be on deck as your kids get older.
- You are a dad.
TVF is a great volunteer opportunity for dads! We meet in the evenings roughly every two months, and our events are on weekends.
- You are a mom.
Nothing gets done without Mom on board.
- You hate meetings.
TVF meets only when necessary, usually 5-6 times a year.
- You like independent work.
We need help with EVERYTHING, and everything is tasked out. Whatever your talents, you can contribute.
- You like to be on call.
TVF presents two major events each year, and many hands make light work. You don’t have to be the “event chair” to help us execute the TechNICOLOR Trek Family Fun Color Run or the adults-only Taste of Tanque Verde. Day-of help is essential to put on both fundraisers.
- You or your kids do fall sports.
Awesome! Our events are in the winter (TechNICOLOR Trek – 1/21/17) and spring (Taste of Tanque Verde – 4/22/17).
- You know a lot of people. Or nobody.
Whether you can help make intros and do ‘the ask’, or just help with the administrative side, donations are our lifeblood and we need help managing the process.
- You are FUN.
At TVF, we like to have a good time! Our events are highlights of the TVUSD calendar every year for families and adults alike. Above all, we have fun working together to get it all done.
AND: TVF board members get to choose what grants to fund with all the money we raise! There’s no better way to have a say in innovative, impactful programming that affects YOUR kids’ education.
